Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Watani Al Emarat Foundation and Union Coop launched the awareness campaign ‘Let’s Beat Coronavirus’ in order to educate the public about the dangers of the epidemic and encourage people to take all precautionary and preventive measures against the spread of Covid19 in society.
H.E. KhalifaAldrai, Executive Director – Dubai Corporation Ambulance Services confirmed that the corporation seeks to be at the forefront by designing awareness programs and appropriate events to tighten control over the epidemic and create an appropriate response. Moreover, due to the current fluctuations in the number of Covid-19 cases, the corporation launched this campaign (Let’s Beat Coronavirus) with Watani Al Emarat Foundation during the period from 19 to 23 October, coinciding with the ‘International Infection Prevention Week’, with participation and cooperation from Union Coop, Laguna Waterpark and Emirates Cooperative Society.
Aldrai further said that the launch of this campaign comes with the aim of spreading information awareness effectively and repeatedly about the need to wear masks, maintain social distancing, adopting preventive personal hygiene, encourage effective remote community participation, adhering to health guidelines, honor community members who commit to wearing mask in public places, and educate public through means of communication such as brochures and channels of social media communication and personal interviews, while adhering to social distancing standards.
For his part, H.E. DherarBelhoul Al Falasi – Member of the Federal National Council and Executive Director of the Watani Al Emarat Foundation affirmed the participation of the foundation by saying: – “The participation of Watani Al Emarat Foundation in this campaign ‘Let’s Beat Coronavirus’ is a national participation par excellence, through which the volunteers of Day for Dubai initiative contribute through effective voluntarily work. They played a major role since the first outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, and their volunteer role had the largest share in supporting the country’s initiatives and efforts to the stop the spread of Coronavirus. Moreover, ‘Let’s Beat Coronavirus’ Campaign complements the initiatives of both Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and Watani Al Emarat Foundation i.e. in creating awareness about the dangers of Corona pandemic and the importance of taking precautionary measures to protect a person himself, his family and society altogether.”
H.E. DherarBelhoul further expressed that the Watani Al Emarat Foundation through its volunteers participated on ground in important locations that demonstrated a spirit of belonging and loyalty, and through their high-end efforts, they strengthened the concept of good citizenship among Emiratis and residents, thereby forming harmony, cohesion and spirit of coexistence among the members of the society.
For his part the Director of Happiness & Marketing Dept. at Union Coop, Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki said: – “Considering the dire circumstances we face today, initiatives like these are more than welcomed, as they educate people about the Coronavirus pandemic and ways to prevent it. Union Coop extends its full support to Watani Al Emarat Foundation, who like Union Coop is tasked with supporting community volunteering initiatives by coordinating with entities both inside and outside the country and through communication and collaboration with local, regional and international entities.”
The participants not only imparted education about Coronavirus but also through volunteers, they distributed kits to the attendees, which consisted of Covid-19 preventive essentials.
The organizers provided volunteers to promote the campaign activities and do everything necessary for its success. Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and Watani Al Emarat Foundation in cooperation with their partners have provided valuable gifts for the public and children, in addition to distributing awareness leaflets and organizing an informative session for the public, ensuring the tightening of preventive and precautionary measures in public places, a part of which was devoted to measuring the public awareness regarding preventive measures.
