City Centre Mirdif is set to transform its Central Galleria into a vibrant journey of tradition and innovation this Eid Al Etihad, inviting guests to “Embrace Heritage, Inspire Progress.” Through a thoughtfully curated experience, visitors will explore a harmonious blend of the UAE’s deep-rooted culture and its forward-looking vision, brought to life with captivating performances, art installations, and interactive craftsmanship displays.
Stepping into an immersive space, guests will be greeted by a design inspired by the UAE’s unique cultural identity, modern elegance, and a cohesive aesthetic throughout. Visitors will be taken on a journey through three main experiential zones – Re-Imagine, Re-Create, and Re-Experience – each offering a unique perspective on the UAE’s rich history and creative future.
Re-Imagine: Celebrating culture and artistic expression
The Re-Imagine zone brings the UAE’s artistic heritage to life. Featuring a Performance Platform with live musicians, including oud, and cello players, visitors can enjoy Arabic melodies with plenty of Emirati tunes. Emirati artist Abdullah Lutfi will demonstrate his unique and signature monochromatic calligraphic style that is multilayered and multiversed..
As part of celebrating heritage, Emirates Post will showcase a collection of stamps that chronicle major milestones in the UAE’s history. They not only pay homage to the nation’s legacy but also showcase its progress, offering visitors a nostalgic glimpse into how the UAE’s story has been told through philately.
Re-Create: Hands-on craftsmanship and collective art
In Re-Create, the spirit of collaboration and artistry takes centre stage. The String Art Wall, featuring a UAE map design in the nation’s colours, invites visitors to add their own creative touch by weaving colourful threads. This collaborative artwork, which will be unveiled in its entirety during the Eid Al Etihad celebration, symbolises the unity and collective spirit of the UAE.
At the Calligraphy Corner, a skilled calligrapher will add a personal touch by crafting visitors’ names onto travel tags, allowing them to take home a unique memento that reflects the beauty of Arabic script. Here, each keepsake becomes a piece of art, blending personal expression with traditional craftsmanship.
Re-Experience: Connecting tradition with modern comfort
The Re-Experience area is designed to embody the spirit of the modern-day majlis, a place where tradition meets contemporary lifestyle. In this Majlis Reimagined space, guests can unwind with traditional Arabic coffee, experience the rich aromas and flavors, and enjoy live performances. Nearby, a hands-on Sadu weaving experience offers visitors a chance to connect with the traditional Emirati art of weaving.
The zone also features a Giant Woven Dreams installation, celebrating the art of Sadu weaving, and an Interactive Wall where guests can share messages and watch them come to life on screen. Adding an element of surprise, the Claw Machine provides fun for all ages with small tokens inspired by UAE treasures, making it an experience full of joyful moments and delightful memories.
City Centre Mirdif warmly invites families, art enthusiasts, and cultural explorers to join this Eid Al Etihad celebration, where every corner of the Central Galleria reflects the UAE’s unique journey that combines tradition with modernity from 4pm – 10pm everyday from November 28 – December 3.
