A fun-packed summer has officially begun as the opening weekend of the biggest and most exciting edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) kick-started a citywide line-up of thousands of exceptional offers and sensationalthings to do, across the emirate. Bringing together the very best that Dubai has to offer at pocket-friendly prices and great value, everyone in the city began their spectacular summer adventures with a jam-packed calendar of citywide celebrations, thrilling concerts, brilliant bargains, incredible prizes, diverse gastronomy experiences, and unbeatable hotel and attraction offers.
DSS 2024, organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), launched with electrifying live entertainment by renowned global artists; the DSS 12-Hour Sale offering amazing deals of up to 90 per cent off; as well as blockbuster movie events and special cinema offers as part of Movie Magic brought to you by DSS at Roxy Cinemas. The opening weekend also saw incredible prizes being distributed among lucky shoppers, including SHARE points ranging from AED 50 – AED 1,000, cinema tickets, gifts, and mall vouchers.
Incredible shopping deals are one of the most anticipated attractions of DSS. The DSS 12Hour Sale paved the way for a season of exclusive deals of up to 90 per cent at more than 100 brands at Majid Al Futtaim malls. The event marked the start of a thrilling DSS sales season, where shoppers can look forward to 10 weeks of unbeatable salesacross more than 800 top brands at over 3,500 stores throughout the city, with discounts of up to 75 per cent.
In celebration of the launch of this value-packed shopping season, malls across Dubai came alive with enthralling music, dance, and art performances. Kicking off a summer of enthralling live entertainment, the DSS opening weekend also saw legendary performances at the Coca Cola Arena by Georges Wassoufand Al Shami, followed by three of the biggest names in rap – Xzibit, D12, and Obie Trice, and Ethiopia’s biggest pop star, Teddy Afro.
The DSS opening weekend also saw families flock to Modesh World at Dubai World Trade Centre Halls 3-8, which opened doors to its biggest and most exciting season ever with grand celebrations for its milestone 25th anniversary. The region’s best-loved kid-fluencer @shfa_family made a special appearance on 29 June, greeting fans and co-hosting an enthralling magic show and quiz. Families and children immersed themselves in endless excitement, entertainment, events, and giveaways as they explored over 170 exhilarating rides and attractions – including an all-new Inflatable Zone – and a jam-packed calendar of thrilling live shows, informative workshops, and so much more.
