Dragon Mart, one of Nakheel Malls’ retail, entertainment and shopping destinations, will be celebrating the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival from 5 to 14 October with a host of exciting activities that will capture the spirit of the well-known festival in China.
Visitors to Dragon Mart 2 will be able to participate in daily lantern painting workshops from 2 pm to 10 pm and watch stunning lion and dragon dance performances every weekend from 5 pm onwards.
Occurring on the 15th day of the eighth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is a renowned festival in China and it is traditionally celebrated during the middle of the autumn season, when the moon is at its roundest and brightest.
As the world’s largest Chinese trading hub outside China, with more than 4,500 shops and restaurants run by nearly 1,800 Chinese traders, Dragon Mart 2 is keeping Chinese traditions alive by hosting a number of festivals throughout the year.
Dubai is currently home to around 200,000 Chinese people, with 50,000 living at International City, many of whom are expected to join in the Chinese Moon Festival celebrations this year along with other local residents.
